The first call, any hour

Before any cremation can legally take place in Queensland, two things are needed: a medical certificate confirming the cause of death, signed by a doctor, and a permit to cremate. We handle all of it, chasing the doctors and lodging the forms, and it usually comes through within a few days. How quickly depends on the doctors involved, which is outside anyone's control, but it is our job to keep it moving and to keep you updated at every step.

The cremation itself

Once the certificates and permit are through, the cremation is carried out privately and respectfully. This part of the process takes a single day. There is no service beforehand and nobody needs to attend or organise anything, that is the point of a direct cremation: the practical side is handled quietly, and the farewell happens later, on your terms.

The ashes come home
