If someone has died, here is what to do
Take your time. Nothing below has to happen in the first hour, and one phone call to us takes care of almost all of it.

Have the death confirmed
Expected, at home: ring the doctor or the palliative care team.
Sudden or unexpected: ring 000.
In hospital or aged care: the staff do this for you.

Day or night. Tell him where your loved one is. If they are in a hospital or aged care home, tell the staff it is Ashes to Ashes.

We look after everything else
Bringing your loved one into our care, the doctor's certificates, the paperwork, the cremation, registering the death and bringing the ashes home to you.

What the price covers
- Transfer of your loved one into our care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Mortuary care and preservation
- All application and registration paperwork
- Doctor's cremation certificates
- An environmentally friendly cardboard coffin
- Private transport to the crematorium
- The cremation fee
- Registration of the death and the official certificate
- Delivery of the ashes to your family, or to a nominated friend
Good to know
- The price covers transfers during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. A transfer outside those hours or on a weekend may cost more. We will always tell you the exact amount before anything happens.
- There is no funeral service included. That is what keeps the cost down. You can hold your own memorial whenever and wherever you like.
- There is nothing to sign just to ask a question.
